Ageism: the last taboo?

London, UK

The Centre for Ageing Better is launching an exciting new event series in 2018 to discuss and debate the topic of ageing. We want this series to bring together a wide range of people who are interested in the big issues related to ageing to raise the debate and start talking about ageing in a productive way.

Ageism: the last taboo?

We invite you to attend our first event, Ageism: the last taboo?

Despite being one of the nine protected characteristics under the UK Equality Act 2010, age is still something that appears to be socially acceptable to discriminate against.

Product marketing, the fashion and retail industry, representations in media and even the language that we use on a daily basis are all examples of areas where this is still blatantly prevalent.

Join us and our panel to discuss how ageing is still a taboo in our society and debate how we can take steps to collectively change this.
