AFE-INNOVNET Thematic Network opened up already a month ago. More than 60 organisations, regional and local authorities, businesses, academics have already joined the Network and will be able to contribute to the creation of an Age-friendly Europe. You are more than welcome to join us as well by registering here. We were also very happy to host our first webinar on 29 April to celebrate the EU Day on Solidarity between generations. The Council of the European Union today adopted on 6 May a €22 billion Innovation Investment Package. It includes the renewed Active and Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP2) for the period 2014-2020.

NHS Health Scotland and the Joint Improvement Team have issued a call to action for national organisations, community planning partnerships and other groups to improve and support the health and wellbeing of Scotland’s population as they move into and through later life.

Ljubljana wins European Mobility Week Award 2013

The Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, was awarded the European Mobility Week Award for 2013. This Award aims to reward the local authority that has done the most in raising public awareness about and implement measures to achieve a shift towards sustainable urban transport.

Why we joined

TNO is well aware that all over Europe, regions face the same challenge of having to deal with an ageing population and that one of the most effective approaches for responding to demographic change is to promote age-friendly environments.
